This influencer wants to date you… kinda 💁‍♀️

Caryn Marjorie has created an AI version of herself. For just $1/minute, you can take the 23-year-old influencer on a date.

CarynAI is a voice-based chatbot, meant to simulate conversation with Caryn Marjorie. In the first week after launch, CarynAI made $72,000. Caryn believes CarynAI can reach 20,000 monthly active users and $5,000,000 of monthly revenue.

Based on this tweet from Caryn yesterday, we’ll see 20,000 users before the next installment of AI Joe.

"Whether you need somebody to be comforting or loving, or you just want to rant about something that happened at school or at work, CarynAI will always be there for you," Caryn said in a somewhat dystopian interview.

Here’s a live look at Caryn with her 20,000 boyfriends:

It’s Spotify not SpotifAI 🎵

So you’re telling me that Kanye didn’t actually cover “You Belong With Me” by Taylor Swift?

Spotify removed tens of thousands of songs uploaded from AI start-up Boomy. It might not be for the reason you thought though. Spotify wasn’t removing the fake vocals of real artists. Instead, they removed songs that were being artificially streamed.

So, what’s artificial streaming?

Artifical streaming is a scheme meant to generate royalties for the uploader of the song. When a song receives enough streams, Spotify pays a royalty to the artist for their content. Fraudsters deploy online AI bots to pose as human listeners and stream their songs. This inflates the audience size and increases royalties.

A diabolical scheme.

You get a billion dollars, you get a billion dollars!

In 2023, generative AI (AIs that can create content, think ChatGPT) start-ups are bucking the trend 🏇.

While other technology companies struggle, generative AI start-ups are achieving unprecedented growth and success. Last week, Cohere and Runway joined 7 peers as unicorns (companies worth more than $1B) in the AI industry.

The average time it’s taken these companies to become unicorns is nearly 50% shorter than other unicorns. The average unicorn company takes 7 years to build while the average generative AI unicorn takes just 3.6 years.

Investors want to get in on these firms early. As more money continues to pour in, expect innovation to pour out. We’re in for an exciting few years.

Google + AI = ❤️ 🎧️

Joe Certified content 🌶️

That’s a long one, so here’s the TL;DR

  • AI is the future of Google products including search 🔍️

  • Gmail adds “Help me write” using generative AI 📝

  • Launching AI photo editor so anyone can look like a Photoshop wiz 📷️

  • Bard (Google’s ChatGPT) is adding plug-ins 🔌

  • Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Slides, etc) adding “Duet AI” 👯

  • AI sidekick “prompt suggestions” allows AI to tell you what to ask AI 🤖

  • AI integrated into search so you can stop using Bing 😮‍💨

Why do I have a feeling this won’t be the last tech event taken over by talk of AI? We’re JUST getting started!
