In an international first, Indian news station OTV unveiled its newest anchor, an AI named Lisa.

So how’s it work?

Today, Lisa is already multilingual and completely AI-generated. She is able to present news stories, but not yet ready for live interaction with guests and other anchors. Eventually, Lisa will become a conversational AI that can react, converse and interact with real humans live on OTV.

While Lisa might be the first AI news anchor, she’s not the only AI in news. Melissa Chan, an international news reporter currently based in Berlin, shared some pretty impressive videos of her voice translated live with vocal inflections, allowing her to broadcast in English, Spanish, French and German all with a single clip.

Joe’s Takeaway:

I didn’t have news anchor on my bingo card for one of the first jobs AI would take over, but here we are. Creating video content with AI is becoming easier and easier. Here are the 2 things I’m watching for based on this trend:

  1. Will a non-English speaker become a household name in America communicating to English speakers using only AI video?

  2. Will an AI personality, like Lisa, become a household name in America?

I think both will happen within 5 years, what do you think?

Throw the ultimate dinner party with ChatGPT! 🍽️ 

Here’s a prompt you can try to plan your next dinner party!

Act as a team of 3 expert–a chef, a decorator and a party planner. Work as a team to help me plan an incredible dinner party for [X] people in my house. The party will be hosted in [Month] in [City].

The party planner should choose a theme and give me 3 activities to do during the dinner party plus write an itinerary for the night including the time of each course.

The decorator should help me choose decor to match the theme. Give me 3-5 things I can do to make my house "on theme."

The chef should create a menu for a 4-course meal as well as a shopping list. The foods should be seasonal and fit with the theme as well as possible. Give the dishes each a name that is on theme and include that in the menu.

Divide your answer into each of the 3 experts.

ChatGPT chose Mediterranean Night for my theme and made some incredible suggestions.
