Midjourney creates a scene with new zoom out feature 🎞️ 

Midjourney, an image creation generative AI launched a new feature called “zoom out” in version 5.2 released last week.

As the name suggests this feature allows users to zoom out from the original image.

Why is this interesting?

This is interesting because AI generates the scene around the initial subject as the “zoom out” happens. The prompt artist can use additional prompts to build on top of an image they’ve already created, or let the AI extend the image automatically. This iterative approach allows users to create incredible art with the power of Midjourney’s model.

Using this feature is simple. Once users create an initial image using Midjourney v5.2, they can simply click the 1.5x zoom or the 2x zoom icon, or select “custom zoom” to add a prompt that will help form the scene.

Joe’s Takeaway: On Sunday’s edition I shared a story about Midjourney being used to create the new Marvel show’s intro sequence animations. If we keep getting new functionality like this, it’s inevitable that Midjourney will replace more and more traditional art forms. This will have an incredible impact on the content we consume, but even more importantly, I think generative AI will prove to be the “canvas” of the 21st century. This is where the artists of tomorrow will do their best work.
